So - the mystery deepens. I got another NBA JAM TE board - so I can do some comparisons - and the video levels on this one match my original board. when hooked up to the RT4k (to check levels) - RGB top out the same - about 80 (out of 255).
So - maybe the levels I am seeing are just normal...
A shameless plug - once this gets into wider distribution - for those with the programmable security dongle from a few years ago, this new IDE and BladeZX's board - I have the images all ready to go for the Rpi. that take into account what mode needs to be set, etc. Tested and ready.

I think there is a character limitation - so I renamed mine from "NM00048 FUD1-HDD0-A (HDD).img" to "NM00048_FUD1-HDD0-A.hdd"

Ah ok - well that is a correct iso file then. File type should be exFAT - as some of the files are over 4gb. I am guessing since it copied over that was fine.

Replace FPGA at UF5.
Replace 74ALS541 at UB4.
Replace 7407 at UA4.
I already replaced UA4 - I just ordered some 74ALS541's and will replace UB4.
If that doesn't resolve it, I will need to try and find a donor board for the FPGA at UF5.

Well - that is good news! Either VGA port can be used - if both of them are dead, there is a inductor and a capacitor to check (I just had this exact same issue with my 256 Super).
