An electrical engineer I knew advised me to run everything on step-down transformers, so I've been doing that since I started collecting six years ago.

Nice! I didn’t know where the case came from and was surprised when my new exA games came without it. (Akai Katana came from a European collector so that makes sense).

Thanks. It looks like the two most reliable options right now are to get the USB2DB15 and then:
pair the DB15 version with something like the Axunworks jamma extractor
or
get the CS version and solder the ends of a Brook Fighting board cable to a male-female Jamma extender.
