How are you playing it without JVS I/O? I've never used that DC header. Just connect a JVS I/O (that is powered with 5v) and you're good.

I regret mentioning the CN connector for power because it's unnecessary for most applications. Just get a jamma harness and follow the pinout to supply 5v to it. I/O needs 5v power; it won't get power through usb. You can either use the jamma edge connector or the little CN header on the opposite edge (I believe... definitely verify that claim). 99% of the time you'll just use the jamma edge since you need a jamma harness anyway.
