US to ASIA B board conversion question

Decided to throw in the towel. I mowed over those schematics over and over, tested connections... nothing. To be fair, I never knew if in fact the Asia board with SF Zero ever actually worked since I didn't have an Asia A board to test it. There must be a bad component on the board...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

So I haven't been able to find anything that isn't connected between the A & B board... hate to believe it but there must be a damaged trace around the pad for the pins of the backplane from my swap. On normal boot, which ICs are critical for the board to 'wake up' to be read by the A board...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

I was afraid of having to do that again... I did it back when I completed the swap and checked but maybe I missed a few pins, or worse, I have a damaged pad around a pin. *sigh* let's see how this goes, might be a while before you hear from me again lol

US to ASIA B board conversion question

So I removed the InfiniKey, shorted EXC5 until it was 0mV, powered it up and same results

US to ASIA B board conversion question

Ok so update, suicide tester rom isn't booting up either. I left the InfiniKey with all jumpers open except the rev-5 jumper, I get the same results, dark blue on first power on, greyish-aqua screen on subsequent tries. The A board gives these results regardless if the B board is attached...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

I already did all the replacing of the pins. I agree, I've spent a lot more time and effort on this than I planned, now I feel like I'm just stubbornly going about it for the sake of seeing it work. I have downloaded the full set of de-suicide Avalauch roms, I'll have to see if I have enough...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

So I was able to find some roms from cps2shock on a French site, but I'm confused by the whole Xor's, Phoenix & de-suicide thing I don't know which ones I should try? ... or better, what the process is for using them..? Do they need the InfiniKey since they dont use encryption? The site says...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

So I went back and took a look at my Xmen:COTA USA and Xmen vs. SF USA boards and found that they both have JP1, 4, 5, 9, 10, & 12 jumped with a small trace on the board. I jumped those same jumpers on the MvC USA board, checked the rest for matching configuration, still nothing working. I...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

Then I'm not really getting anywhere with the board jumpers... I set them as exactly they were on the old board. I cut traces on anything that I assumed wasn't supposed to be shorted even when it didn't have solder bead.

Do the first 13 change region to region?

US to ASIA B board conversion question

I found JP10 on the board still coming up shorted even though I cleaned and practically destroyed the pads. I really don't know why. Two seconds from scrapping this project and waiting until I get an actual USA B board. edit: Some of the first 13 jumpers on the board have a tiny strip...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

I have 3 USA A boards, 2 first boot with dark blue, then subsequent power cycles show a grey/blue sort of color . The third is black screen, then red every power on. I've checked all the soldering work, seems to all check out just fine. So for MVCU, code is 01010000, counting from 7 to 0...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

Yeah I'm not sure what's wrong. A blue/grey-ish screen is all I get. Open to suggestions

US to ASIA B board conversion question

Ok this is exactly what I thought it might be too.. wasn't sure if in fact the CCX caps were needed or not or if I needed to transplant the BGS 1 & 2 as well. This was a Marvel vs. Capcom USA version, so MVCU is what I set the Infinikey to , and since its a rev-6 board, I jumped the non-5...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

Ok finally finished transferring all the backplane connectors, I have pictures I'll be resizing and uploading this afternoon. When I power it up, I just get solid color screens. One USA A board gave me a all RED screen (black on first boot), another USA A board gave me a AQUA BLUE or DARK...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

Spent about another hour going through removing the third connector. What I've found is that the battery leakage that affected pins on the connectors makes it much harder to desolder. I definitely plan to take some pictures of this whole process, so far all I have been doing though is just...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

I spent the better part of 2.5 hours yesterday just to remove 2 connectors from the old damaged US board. I still have 2 more to go and then on to removing the 4 connectors from the Asia board. It's 96 pins, x 4 ... then I have to do it again on the new board 96 x 4. That's 768 pins to...

US to ASIA B board conversion question

Hi, so I have a US Marvel vs Capcom rev 6 B board that was badly damaged by the battery leak. I picked up another rev 6 B board for Street Fighter Zero to convert Marvel vs Capcom to but I accidentally bought a ASIA B board. I only have a US A board. I've already transferred over the ROMS...

Pre-built SD for 1.0.0-RC1 for use with SD2PSX/PSXMemcardGen2

It's a CD-Rom image that is barely 100MB. I also have been seeing issues with the dumps from the web archives, I have been having more success with extracting from CHD files from mame romsets

2x6's DVD or HDD clone to SSD/CF-IDE

Been trying Gundam vs Gundam NEXT on the same 8GB CF I have had success with, but with this one the game doesn't fully boot -- hangs at BOOT 02 message. Fate Unlimited Codes was doing similar when it was on too large of a CF card, which makes me think maybe the IMG file I wrote to the CF card...
