Cps1.5 wof revival

Hi folks, i wonder if someone can help me out here.
I bought a wof and does not work straight from purchase. I wanna first try to make this work and then see if can be converted to cadillacs for example.

The kabuki suicide fix was done when arrived to me and opened first time, but wasnt working. I tested the c board battery and read 2.9v, i guess was fine but did the suicide fix just in case. When powered black screen.

I haven't reprogrammed 23c chip because im waiting uv eraser to arrive.

I have a c board b21 from a sf2ce, can i test if the c board is failing by just swapping it for the sf2ce b21 c board?

If the game was supposed to work, the kabuki suicide fix was done, but the c board came in with battery, what are the steps to follow? Also im waiting undamned genius work on cps1.5 infinikey.

These "suicide fixes" are most likely the problem IMO.
Today we should all be using @undamned infinikey's, or Arcade Hackers Kabuki Desuicider.

When you say the Kabuki suicide fix was done, what exactly did they do? This requires a few traces to be cut and rerouted so if there are no hardwired modifications to the underside of your D board - it hasn't been modified for non suicide operation

As @jassin000 said, there are now ways to desuicide that don't involve barbaric difficult to reverse modifications to the board.

Thank you @jassin000 and @xodaraP for the reply. Yes, i wish had not being modifed. As i saw the kabuki mod(yes barbaric way, traces cut and stuff...) when opened and didnt run the game i proceeded with the c board to see if that helped. Now i have to try my possibilities for this to revive. If someone knows what should shouldnt try ill apreciate any help.

A non battery C board won't work unless it's modified but you can desuicide using the Arduino method and a new battery

Generally though, black screen is Kabuki. C board suicide will give a garbage screen

Thanks @xodaraP for the answer. So i guess i will have to check what was previously done to see if theres something wrong with the kabuki intervention, i hope something i can resolve cause i dont have any experience at all haha.
