Hi,
I picked up a Harley Davidson game almost 2 weeks ago that I have been loving and restoring. I have already replaced the rosta suspension unit which was worn and made the handlebars lean to the right, and I replaced the start button which had a dead bulb.
The Nanao needs to be recapped but I'm modding in a 26" Unico ULM26 LCD to the cabinet and selling the chassis (and possibly tube) to a friend. I have already tweaked the color pots in the back of the monitor and they came out very nicely!
A fellow who put the same LCD model in the same cabinet told me he simply cut two strips of 1/2 inch plywood and affixed them to the existing monitor frame with new bolts and washers, after the tube and chassis were removed.
To remove the monitor frame and put it back on the cabinet, would it be safer to pull out the entire monitor with the frame first? I believe the screws in the attached photo are for the tube frame itself, which I was planning to keep in my Harley.
I've been told it's a pain to remove the tube from the frame with the frame still mounted to the cabinet, I've only ever removed a Nanao MS9 with the frame when I tore the Lemans 24 cabinet apart last year. I wish Unico sold custom frames and bezels for these cabinets as my woodworking skills are not quite up to par yet (I can drill but that's about it lol).
I know these are all M6 bolts and I'll be using longer M6 bolts and washers to affix the mounting strips to the frame.
Just want some tips and input for installing this Unico in an MS9 frame. Many cabinets use it so theoretically what I do in Harley will work with Lemans if the MS9 goes bad in it as well.
