MV-1B question about JAMMA compatibility

So, I'm new to the Neo Geo hardware and understand Neo Geo cabinets require a JAMMA adapter to safely plug in JAMMA boards. I currently run a 4-slot in my Neo 25, but recently purchased a MV-1B board to run a Darksoft cart. Everything I'm seeing about the MV-1B indicates it's a JAMMA specification. So, do I need an adapter to safely use this in my Neo 25?


Thanks for any help! Additionally, if there are any good resources for "General Neo Geo" information outside of the basics I'd be much obliged.

Yes. MV-1B is jamma, and requires an adapter to be used in a cab wired for MVS.

Doesn't the Darksoft cart work in a 4-slot?

Thank you! Is there a chart out there that indicates which MOBOs are JAMMA vs ... Whatever the Neo Geo standard is called? Not that it makes much difference to my use case, but I'd like to be more aware.

All the 1-slots are jamma, and all the multi-slots are MVS. Except the first 1-slot models have a switch to work with both.
