Hello everyone,
I have a neo geo MV 1F 1- slot board I installed in my dynamo cab. I recently got a 4 slot big red cabinet with the MV4 4-slot board.I saw the JAMMA pin outs have differences for the 2,4,6 Slots boards are stereo while the 1 slot is mono,(The 1 slot is standard JAMMA ,Some of the 1-slots have the stereo option,eg. 1F. but not on the jamma edge ,on the board itself)l researched that you can't install a normal harness on a MVS 2,4,6 slot board. ( without a 3rd party adapter )

I checked the JAMMA harness on the 1 -slot and saw l installed a MVS JAMMA harness, not the regular mono JAMMA harness.l read up and saw that the wrong harness over time will destroy the amp on the 1f or the multislot boards. Other posters from other sites said, they haven't had issues with the wrong harness.


My questions are,

1. Do l get a new regular JAMMA harness with mono wiring?

2. Is there a adapter for a mvs harness to regular jamma edge, (will the Jinx adapter help? ,https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/jnx-big-red-jamma-to-mvs-board-adapter.1599/ )

The JNX adapter would let you run JAMMA boards in a cabinet wired for MVS. I used them along with a JAMMA switcher in my "big red" cab for awhile.

Hey,thanks for the response, will get the JNX adapter and the regular wire harness

I meant to write series not parallel... proving I still have a hard time keeping it straight. It's all in that thread I linked to. MVS audio is weird.
 
You're right it is confusing, l read that article a few times to make sure,l even read up on series and parallel wiring !
