Hi everyone,

As the title suggests, I've been on the hunt for full PCB kits for Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label and Mushihimesama Futari Black Label. If you have and are interested in selling, please either reply here or DM me with pictures and price point. These both are my favorite shmups of all time and I want them to be the cernterpieces of my collection. I'm currently located in Redwood City, California, and willing to cover shipping costs.

Thanks a lot!

Hello. Not sure if you know me or not, but I was doing Japan proxy services for forum members for about a year and a half before closing it down in August 2023. An overwhelming amount of search requests were for Cave games; more than 50% of all requests easily. For every PCB that I found and delivered to someone, there was (no exaggeration) ten more people in line. I shipped out both the games you are looking for (full kits) among others, and too many art sets, boxes, etc to mention.

My advice to you would be to search what these games have sold for in the last year via Yahoo, what the asking price is at Tops (always the highest), and then ask yourself what you are willing to pay to make these part of your collection. Cave games are only getting more and more expensive, so without a number out there, there is a very low chance somebody is going to message you about these and you are going to be bumping this thread for a long time. I realize that you probably want to get the best price possible, but for these two items, it is a good idea to give people a reason to sell them. This is especially so as a new member. Please don't think I'm trying to bust your balls here; I just want to ensure your search isn't hopeless.

Would +1 Joko's advice.

I have at least one Cave PCB kit with precious cardboard that I wouldn't mind parting with for the right price... but whenever I see WTB threads with no reference to a ballpark of what they'd be willing to pay, I just don't bother with sending a PM and just keep moving. Why? What usually ends up happening is I send a PM, I get an offer that's well below market, we can't find a middle ground, I decline and move on. Like clockwork.

Demand's high, supply's low. People aren't really looking to sell these kits a lot of the time, so if you want to get one without going through a PCB shop or auctions, you have to put an offer out there and ensure the offer is competitive.

If you make a WTB with a money offer, someone considering selling a game will take your price, add another 15-30% on top and just put the game up for sale in the FS section. Maybe they'll have the courtesy of at least pointing you to it, but I wouldn't bet on it.

DOJ just had a console port come out, the LE is very nice. Don't feed the Cave trolls.

^ yeah there is that possibility as well. Although if one magically pops up after a price is put up here then we all know who the dickhead is 😉

Your advice comes from a good place and I appreciate it, thank you.

Admittedly the reason I don't post with an offer is because I've had the exact situation described by nem happen to me before in this hobby and another and have found better success when buying grails of just posting with patience with the expectation there might not be movement for a long time.

I'm not the lowballing type and always do give strong, respectful offers when looking to buy, understanding that anybody who would be in possession of these was just as excited to get them initially as I am now, and they need to be convinced to part with it. That said, I also both understand and respect that others will not know that about me and may not want to waste their time reaching out to another person when selling something worth several thousand dollars only to have high likelihood of being met with an offer for $50 and a used Nintendo DS.
