Hi Cereth, i PMed you but didnt get a response. How can i join the group buy?
thanks -sloth

Give me some time to process. I'm going thru a few back to back containers and shows right now

Update on the Dragonball cabs. They look like they'll work offline, and require a special router to link.ordering a set of four, each of the two pairs will come with one router, which can be linked for 4p. If anyone wants to order any of the bits, please PM me confirmation. I will have to order the set soon, and I'm not really interested in doing so unless there's maybe at least 2 sold. I'm toying with the idea of keeping the whole 4-player setup too.

There is an offer of Egret IIIs. There are 7 available, and I need to place a bid against other vendors. I know a lot of people don't like them, but if there's interest please post and let me know what the current market value or price it's worth to you is so I know what a worthwhile bid would be.

The current container docked today and cleared customs. I am unpacking it on Thursday. I'll be picking over the Egret II and Blast Cities, and probably get in touch with people soon!

I cant commit to getting the cab, but I would to buying the game board and internals like the io/card reader, etc.. if the game requires it.

So I owe an update since the container came in. I've just been overloaded. Here's photos of the incoming. As of now, there is nothing unclaimed on the order, though after this month I might open up a few Blast City cabs. I've got MAGWest coming up this week, will be more ready to push forward after that! I'm still on-track to close out the next container by the end of the month, so anyone looking to make any purchases please start getting ready for that. I'll need to get everything paid up asap.

We currently have an offer for BishiBashi Channel kits and cabinets, though it is considerably higher than at launch. If you are interested, please inquire but keep in mind they are pretty expensive right now.

We've got one SDVX available either coming in Oct/Nov, or after the end of the month, $5,000 with a Real Generator included.

BishiBashi Channel kits and SDVX with Real Generator for $5,000 still available.

Ordered and ready for purchase:
jubeat (likely includes Festo art): $2,250
Rhythm Tengoku: $1,100
Blast City x4: $900-$1,000
Project DIVA: $1,750-$3,000
SQ (G-BALANCE): $900

Need to sell some of these to get the next toe containers going! Anything paid later probably risks not making it in time for the first shipped container, seeing as I'm probably doing two. Previous offer lists are still good, I'll make a first post update when I get a chance!

3 AMI Vewlixes and a bunch of F/FCs are available. AMI Vewlix are $1,500, F/FC Vewlix are $1,750. Hoping to get better photos after we reserve and bring them in. I'm getting the AMIs for sure, and probably at least a few FCs. Since there's only 3 AMIs, expecting them to go quickly. Will post better photos when they come but don't expect them to stick around.

EDIT: The prices are higher than they expected and they're seeing if they can do anything about it. I kind of thought the original quote was too good to be true as well; we'll see but for now that's where it stands! I archived the first post and put current information up.

Most arcades in Japan allow smoking, hence the Taito/Sega branded ashtrays.

Every Japanese cab I've bought has had some stink of smoke on it... with that said I've also never NOT been able to clean it all off completely.

the worst was the deep burn marks in my Egret 29 panels from people putting out their cigarettes in them and pushed them into the plastic enough that it warped it. on these I had to grind out the burned part which released one of the worst smells I've ever smelled (seriously almost made me vomit). but once that was done and the damage repaired. all of the unburned parts given a bath in simple green, you'd never know the cab was even in the same building with a cigarette. you can see this here: Taito Egret 29 Restoration

That is a unique case, for the most part the smell is trapped in dust which tends to accumulate around fans. Taito Type X, Lindbergh, etc with lots of cooling fans are some of the stinkiest boards I've bought. but you pull everything else, air-dust the PCBs, and use a cleaner to get the grime out of the fans and the cases and its fine once you put it back together.

Yeah, smoke is almost entirely unavoidable. I'd second jassin, if it's really a concern to you, absolutely buy one of those Diamond Blacks instead.

I don't mean to derail a for sale thread, but the potential smoke issue isn't apparent to those of us who have never purchased a cab from Japan, and worth knowing before purchasing and being surprised by it. Had I purchased without even knowing, I'd have been very disappointed.

I've got a 2 year old daughter, so I'm not even going to take any risks of owning a smoke infused item. I would be concerned that even after cleaning, potential negative health consequences from exposure are not addressed.

It's your life and your health concerns, no need to apologize for having them.
Here public smoking has been ban for years, but travel to virtually any other place in the world and you'll experience a much different attitude toward/around smoking.

Not saying one or the other is right, just that you likely appear very American right now. ;)

Understandable. I was caught by surprise with the first cab I bought and then quickly had a "duh, of course" moment when I recalled that smoking in Japan is still as wide spread as it was here in the 70s.

I loath the smell of cigarettes, I've never been a smoker and I'm pretty sensitive to the smell to the point where I generally can't ride in a smokers car without developing a sore throat for the next 2 weeks after... and in general it's not been a big deal to clean it up the cab.

I mean if you have a garage you could easily just keep the cab in there until you have a chance to give it a through cleaning and chances are you wont have any issues removing all traces of the smoke.

My point is simply that, had I thought about this before I bought my first Japanese cab, like you, I probably would have avoided it, but where I didn't realize until I had it in front of me I cleaned it and came to realize that it wasn't a huge deal.
